ABOUT ME
My foundation in fine art from Westmont College taught me to see spaces compositionally, understanding how form, light, and texture work together. Before transitioning fully to interior design in 2014, I spent over a decade as a graphic and web designer, developing skills in client communication, project management, and visual problem-solving. I also founded S.Rose Designs, an artisan product business that deepened my understanding of craftsmanship and the full creative process from concept to completion.
As a freelance interior designer, I’ve developed expertise in space planning, custom cabinetry design, and material specification. I create comprehensive design guides and technical drawings using hand-drafting, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AutoCAD. I work closely with clients to understand their needs, then coordinate with contractors and vendors to execute designs on time and within budget, maintaining careful oversight throughout construction.
I’m currently seeking an opportunity to join an established design firm where I can contribute to residential projects, collaborate with experienced designers, and continue growing creatively and professionally.
CREATIVE PRACTICES
Living in Santa Barbara offers an enduring source of inspiration—the light, the landscape, and the natural beauty of the California coast fosters an environment that invites creativity in all its forms. It's a place that makes it easy to slow down and make things. Outside of client projects, I continue to explore form, color, and composition through pottery, watercolor painting, and flower arranging—for myself and for friends. Each one continues to inform how I see color, texture, and composition in my interior design work.
